CSV is a simple spreadsheet file format. Look for “Export CSV” in your business app, or save a copy of a spreadsheet as CSV.

A comma-separated CSV with a single header row and up to 60 uniquely named columns. Choose one numeric column and optionally a category and date column. Values must be plain numbers with up to two decimal places, without currency signs or thousands separators. Negative values are supported. Use one currency and consistent units. Choosing a number format labels your amounts; it does not convert currencies.
How do dates and comparisons work?
Dates must be YYYY-MM-DD or months YYYY-MM. The tool groups dates by calendar month. Choose a month or all rows; comparisons use another, earlier month from the same file. It does not adjust for partial months or missing records.
What is checked, and what still needs review?
Malformed rows, missing numeric values, invalid numbers, and invalid dates block the report. Repeated rows are flagged for review but kept because they may be legitimate. Empty category cells become “Uncategorized.” You still need to check that the export is complete and that the chosen column means what you intend.
What does the free tool calculate?
The sum and per-row average of one selected numeric column, category totals, and an optional monthly comparison. It does not join multiple files or infer definitions such as profit, unique customers, or tax liability. The downloaded HTML report opens in a browser and can be printed or saved as PDF using your browser’s Print menu.
Can I use it again next month?
